Listen to this BBC World Service piece about the recent show, featuring an interview with Fidelma Hanrahan, a researcher at Sussex University School of Psychology:
Since 2007, Giles Stogdon, PROJECT Producer/Administrator, has been facilitating a psychology research project around issues of identity with students permanently excluded from mainstream school. Based at the Phil Edwards Pupil Referral Unit, in South East London, it began with undergraduate study of peer relationships in the Phil Edwards Centre, under the auspices of Dr Robin Banerjee, Senior Lecturer at Sussex University School of Psychology.
This led on to further study by MSc researchers, leading to the current PhD work attached to THE PROJECT itself. The research work has been funded by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation since 2009.
